Every day hundreds of products are being designed and developed by businesses. If you ask any business leader, they would say that their products are designed through a “customer-centric” process. But, more often than not they fail, either for their unusable design or for not being useful. Why does that happen? Where do businesses go wrong? Is there something we can do or at least try to ensure that doesn’t happen in the companies we work for. What can we learn from them?
This presentation explores these questions and possible solutions using a fun story as an analogy. The analogy will be used to understand our users, our business stakeholders and to have a discussion during product/business meetings that result in a win-win situation. Finally, the presentation brings the discussion to what can we as designers and developers do to improve our personal lives and that of people who interact with us every day. The audience can share their own experiences from their professional or personal life to provide different situations, perspectives, and solutions.
